XILS Chor’X

Chor’X is a powerful and flexible chorus plugin that combines four types of vintage Bucket-Brigade Delay (BBD) emulations with a sophisticated True Stereo Dynamic Spatializer. This combination allows users to easily add space, depth, and other dimensions to their instruments, making Chor’X an essential tool for creating rich, complex mixes.

The plugin features a Legacy/Advanced workflow mode, allowing users to either quickly select a classic chorus algorithm or dive deeper into tweaking the settings. For users who want to stick with a well-known chorus model, the Legacy view provides a fast, intuitive workflow. If you want to adjust parameters like LFO rate or modulation amount, switching to the Advanced mode unlocks these controls for more fine-tuned sound shaping.

Chor’X offers four chorus modes—Synthex, CS-80, Dim-D, and V+ 330—each carefully modeled after vintage chorus units. These modes capture the distinct characteristics of famous analog chorus devices, offering unique combinations of Bucket-Brigade Delays (BBD), phase shifts, and companders. Whether you’re aiming for smooth and lush or experimental and wild, Chor’X provides a wide range of sonic possibilities.

In addition to its chorus emulations, Chor’X features the True Stereo Dynamic Engine (TSDE), which enables users to position signals within a stereo field, either close to the listener or farther back. This is not just a simple panning tool—TSDE allows for intricate control over the stereo image, adding depth and realism to your sound.

Chor’X includes several advanced features to preserve the clarity and impact of your sound. The Impulse Threshold tool ensures that the low end remains untouched, keeping transients dry while applying chorus only to the tail of the sound. The plugin also features dynamic modulations, which can automatically change the rate and amount of the BBD lines for evolving, organic chorus effects. These modulations can create anything from subtle movement to more dramatic and evolving choruses combined with stereo effects.

Chor’X’s intuitive interface features two 2D pads for easy, real-time tweaking of parameters like chorus rates and amounts, with instant visual feedback. This allows users to see the stereo image move dynamically as the chorus and stereo effects modulate in sync with the music.
