BM Roots of the 51 is the capture of the amp that first launched the EVH* line: the 5150III* 100-Watt Head. Known as the Holy Grail of Tone that Eddie Van Halen has chased his whole life, this capturing process was made at Sandlane Studio, a studio specialized in recording hi-gain hard rock and metal. This is not just a 5150* library; it is the most realistic and artist-aligned capture of a legend.
The BM Roots of the 51 includes an extensive capture of 85 rigs (including 9 DI rigs), created with multiple speakers, microphones, and distortion pedals:
- Speakers: Mesa* 2×12″ (V30), Marshall* 1960 (G12H Greenback), Marshall* 1976 (G12H Blackback), Bogner* 412 (V30)
- Microphones: SM57, R121, U47, MD421, M160
- Distortion Pedals: TS9 Tube Screamer, Jackhammer* JH-1 booster, Hellmouth booster
- Channels: Both the Red and Blue channels have been captured
Additionally, the library includes two unique effects designed with Bert Meulendijk:
- Stryverb: A rich and lush reverb effect with a long and modulated tail, offering a modern vibe.
- Parallel Compressor: Features a Parallel knob to blend direct and compressed tones for full dynamic control.
This Rig Library can be loaded into any TH-U edition. If you don’t own TH-U, purchasing this library will grant you a TH-U Essential License for free.
