The XILS DeeS is a professional-grade de-essing tool designed to remove sibilance and other vocal recording issues, all while retaining the natural, dynamic character of the original audio. Whether you’re restoring irreplaceable vocal takes, cleaning up voice recordings for film or podcasting, or enhancing vocals in a musical project, XILS DeeS delivers transparent and natural results in a fast, intuitive manner.

With its simple interface, finding the sweet spot is as easy as adjusting the Frequency Knob and applying Reduction. The dual signal path system allows for precise control over both the Voice and Sibilant channels, with clear visual feedback provided by the real-time frequency graph at the bottom of the unit. Solo buttons for each channel make it easy to isolate and adjust specific frequencies, giving you full control over the de-essing process.

One of the standout features of XILS DeeS is its complete transparency. Unlike traditional de-essers, which can cause unwanted filter sweep effects, XILS DeeS ensures that the de-essing is smooth and natural. The tool is fast enough to handle even the most dynamic vocals without making them sound lifeless, while the Plosive Detection feature helps improve the recognition of sibilants.

The built-in EQing system allows users to further refine both the voice and sibilant channels, with analog-like zero-delay feedback filters for completely natural high-frequency control. The Sibilant path features various filter types (Low Pass 6 dB, Low Pass 12 dB, Bell, High-Shelf) with adjustable cutoff frequency, resonance, and gain, while the Voice path provides similar control without the need for a specific level adjustment.

In addition to basic de-essing, the XILS DeeS offers endless possibilities for creative sound design. With two independent EQing audio paths and sidechain treatment options, you can use the DeeS to adapt the character of a voice for any project or even create special effects.

Key Features:

  • Transparent De-essing: Eliminates sibilance without introducing unnatural filter sweep effects.
  • Dual Signal Path: Separate control over Voice and Sibilant channels with solo buttons for each.
  • Plosive Detection: Improved recognition of sibilants through built-in plosive detection.
  • Real-time Frequency Graph: Visualize both Voice and Sibilant channels and the applied EQ curves for instant feedback.
  • Zero-delay Filters: Analog-like filters in the EQing paths ensure natural sound without digital artifacts or latency.
  • Dynamic Independence: Retains the full dynamic range of the input audio, ensuring consistent performance regardless of input gain.
  • Advanced EQing: Each channel features independent EQs with selectable filter types, resonance, and gain control.
  • MIDI Controllable: All parameters can be controlled via MIDI for easy automation in your DAW.
XILS DeeS is the perfect solution for those looking to clean up their vocal recordings while preserving the emotional and dynamic range of the original take. Its intuitive workflow and advanced features make it suitable for both simple fixes and creative sound manipulation.
