LoFi Pitch Dropout brings a new level of control to pitch error effects, allowing you to add character to your sound with anything from subtle pitch flux to strong, time-warped distortions. Imagine a tape in an old playback system getting stuck and then speeding up again to catch up, adding a subtle flux to the pitch of your signal. With LoFi Pitch Dropout, you can recreate these nostalgic effects randomly or with precise control using the Dropout button, which can be automated to sync with your beat.

This plugin offers six distinct modes: Cassette Flux, Heavy Drop, Droplets, Broken VHS, Vintage Player, and Pyramid. Each mode emulates a unique type of pitch degradation, reminiscent of various old playback machines and damaged tapes. Whether you’re aiming for subtle, nostalgic nuances or extreme, time-warped distortions, LoFi Pitch Dropout provides a vast array of mesmerizing results, letting you create sounds that evoke a sense of stepping back in time.

Key Features:

  • Subtle to strong pitch errors: Create a range of pitch errors in your signal, from delicate to dramatic.
  • Six different Modes: Simulate a variety of dropout behaviors with modes like Cassette Flux, Heavy Drop, Droplets, Broken VHS, Vintage Player, and Pyramid.
  • Mono Dropout Mode: Affects both channels in the same way for consistent effects.
  • Stereo Dropout Mode: Creates wide effects with independent errors on each channel.
  • Adjustable Chance control: Define how often dropouts occur, from rarely to frequently.
  • Automatable Dropout button: Trigger dropouts manually or sync them to your track with automation.
  • Amount dial: Scale the overall error intensity for each mode.
  • Finetuned Amount and Chance: Both controls are optimized to work seamlessly with each mode.

Dropout:

  • Amount control: Adjust the dropout intensity from 0% to 100%, increasing or decreasing the strength of the effect.
  • Visualizer display: The visualizer gives you real-time feedback on the virtual tapes’ behavior inside the circuit.
  • Channel Selector: Set to mono for consistent dropouts across both channels, or stereo for individual dropouts on each channel, creating a wider listening effect.

Six Tasty Errors:

  • Cassette Flux, Heavy Drop, Droplets, Broken VHS, Vintage Player, and Pyramid: Each mode gives the dropouts a distinct shape and behavior, emulating various old playback machines and damaged tapes.

The Ghost of a Chance:

  • Chance slider: Tweak the algorithm to control how often dropouts occur, with lower values resulting in less frequent dropouts and higher values increasing the likelihood.
  • Dropout button: Immediately trigger the effect or automate it for controlled dropouts. Set Chance to 0% to sync the effect to your track using this control.
