Algorithms, operators, and opaque sub-menus: programming FM synthesis can be challenging, but it’s also a highly rewarding journey for crafting new sounds. This technique remains a relatively unexplored territory in drum synthesis. With this new WaveShaper kit, you can skip the tedious task of programming snare-ish FM sounds. This sample pack is ready to use, offering 250 percussive one-shot samples created using FM synths.
This FM drum sample pack is designed to create abstract micro sounds, pure tones, sharp transients, and unique percussion simulacra. Additionally, it includes some iconic FM sounds from the 80s, making this kit comprehensive and versatile.
The samples were mainly created using a Yamaha TX81-Z rackmount synth from 1987, with contributions from modern gear like the Alesis Bitrman and Waldorf Blofeld. The samples benefit from 12-bit converters, delivering a gritty and distinct sound.
For your convenience, the samples are categorized into kicks, snares, hats, cymbals, percs, and FX. All samples are provided as 24-bit 48kHz stereo WAV files.
