David Oliver’s Drum Kit

David Oliver's Drum Kit features a deeply sampled red 1980's Pearl DLX drumset, handpicked and performed by British instrumentalist and media composer David Oliver. This versatile kit, originally endorsed by Jazz legend Art Blakey, is suitable for multiple genres of music. It was sampled with various stick types, allowing for expressive drumming techniques from ultra loud to ultra soft. The compact 18 inch kick is super punchy, accompanied by a 12 inch rack tom and a 14 inch floor tom. The kit was extensively recorded at The Whitehouse Studios in the UK.

The cymbal array includes mostly Zildjians, with a few Sabian, Paiste, and Wuhan. A variety of hi-hats, custom jazz and rock rides, and expressive crashes and splashes are also included.

The toms feature double-headed Evans Level 360 Heads on the batter side for excellent sound control and fidelity, and Evans 56 Calftone drum heads on the Mapex Peace Snare Drum. The vintage Pearl Super Gripper Brass Shell Snare Drum is fitted with a Remo Coated Ambassador head. The 18 inch kick is sampled with a Remo Powerstroke batter head and an Evans Level 360 resonant front head.
