The Passive EQ Collection is a revitalization of timeless equalizers, meticulously modeling the overbuilt transformers and complex tube amplifiers of classic hardware. This collection brings the distinctive abilities of legendary equalizers from the ’60s and ’70s into the modern DAW environment, allowing for simultaneous boosting and cutting of frequencies to create resonant shelves and intricate tonal shaping.
Key Features:
- EQP-1A: Based on the Classic Program Equalizer from the ’60s, this model faithfully reproduces its unique ability to simultaneously boost and cut the same frequencies. This results in a resonant shelf and complex tonal coloration, perfect for enhancing the low and high frequencies.
- MEQ-5: Inspired by the Classic Mid-Range Equalizer from the ’70s, it offers precise control over the midrange, with two bands for boosting and one for cutting. This equalizer excels in the “power region” where guitars and vocals reside, making or breaking a mix.
- HLF-3C: This plugin features 12 dB per octave low and high cut filters, providing broad retro-tonal sculpting or special effects from a bygone era, without the inconvenience of insertion loss found with the unamplified passive hardware.
System Requirements
All Red Rock Sound products require a computer with appropriate DAW host software (none of which are included). Plug-in Activation requires Internet connection. You can go offline as soon as the plug-in is successfully activated.
Operating System:
- Windows: Windows 7 or higher (Windows XP not tested)
- Mac: Mac OS X 10.14.6 or higher
Hardware:
- CPU: Intel Core i3 / i5 / i7 / Xeon / AMD Quad-Core or newer
- Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB or more recommended
- Storage: 1 GB of free disk space
In theory, any AAX, VST, VST3, AUv3 compatible host application should work. However, due to plug-in host differences between DAWs and our own rigorous testing standards, we only officially test our plug-ins and instruments in the most recent versions of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Studio One, Reaper, and Bitwig. Red Rock Sound plugins are not tested in non-listed systems, but they most likely work as long as the system requirements are met. We cannot guarantee a solution for issues in unsupported systems.
