Los Andes Pan Flutes

The Los Andes Pan Flutes library is a remarkable collection of Argentinean pan flutes, meticulously sampled for Kontakt. In collaboration with Argentinian Pan Flute master Alejandro Fatur, we present four traditional pan flutes, each covering a broad key range and offering a variety of chromatic articulations, expressive effects, and phrases.

The Toyo covers the bass range, producing rich sub-harmonics and a fat, breathy tone. The Zanca and Malta span the lower and upper mid-range, while the Ch’ulli reaches into the soprano range. Play the entire range as a combined instrument or select individual flutes to suit your needs.

The library offers sustains and 3 staccato speeds, allowing you to choose between clean non-vibrato, vibrato, and whispering flautando styles in both piano and forte dynamics. With crescendo and decrescendo expressions, special flute effects, and round robin chromatic articulations, you can create lush, natural pan flute arrangements. Advanced sound-shaping and performance features provide the freedom to explore new creative avenues.

Alejandro Fatur recorded thousands of melodic phrases for each pan flute, totaling over 10,000 distinct elements. Organized by flute, tempo, musical key, and performance style, these phrases can be triggered individually or sequenced with full control over tempo, offset, release, pitch, and more.

The Kontakt interface includes a comprehensive suite of automation-ready sound-shaping controls. You have control over swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch (coarse & fine), articulation switching, cross-fading, layering, and more. The library also features 20 unique sound-designed custom FX presets for added creative options.

The adaptable LFO system offers selectable LFO shape, modulation target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing, and fade-in time. Additionally, the library includes 12 low-pass, high-pass, and FX filters with assignable modulation targets like velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position, and step-sequencer table control. The customizable arpeggiator includes a velocity table and controls for arp direction, timing, swing, randomization, and duration. The key and scale lock system helps constrain notes to common scales and keys, facilitating easy melodic composition and live performance.
