Delta Sound Labs introduces Fold, a revolutionary distortion synthesis plug-in that utilizes wavefolding technology to create unparalleled warmth and distortion. Inspired by modular hardware design, Fold’s in-series FX chain transforms input signals, adding harmonically rich overtones or completely altering them when pushed to extremes.

At the heart of Fold is its wavefolding engine, first pioneered by synth legend Don Buchla. Wavefolding folds a wave back on itself after reaching a threshold, naturally producing distortion and harmonics. Fold also includes a bit crusher module to further manipulate the input signal. The combination of oversampling, distortion, and wavefolding creates tones that are both timbrally rich and over-the-top destroyed, even with simple periodic input signals.

Fold features an analog emulation of a resonant low-pass filter for controlling unhinged results. Each parameter can sync to its own LFO, with amount sliders and host tempo sync for creative sound design and mixing effects. Fold comes with professionally designed presets showcasing its engine’s versatility.
