Overloud’s ECHOSON is a meticulous recreation of a legendary Italian magnetic disc delay unit, renowned for its unique tone that helped define the Pink Floyd sound in the ’70s. This plugin not only replicates the original’s lush and ethereal tone but also extends its functionality with digital enhancements.
“I loved the photo-realistic GUI and the unique ability to add any number of your own Scribble Strip notes anywhere on the front of the plug-in GUI–more plug-in companies should copy this feature. Echoson is easy on CPU usage and I’m using it more and more–it’s a great and unique new color now on my mixing palette!” —Barry Rudolph (Music Connection Magazine)

Beyond the Original Hardware
ECHOSON enhances the features of the original hardware, adding digital flexibility to its analog character.
Stereo Mode
Process left and right channels with different settings (Mono), send delays to the opposite channel (Cross), and combine the two channels (Verb).
Multiple Head Control
Switch playback heads on or off individually and decide which ones are fed back to the loop.
Adjustable Time
Unlike the original hardware’s fixed delay time of 310 milliseconds, ECHOSON allows you to choose a different tempo and even sync it to the song’s BPM.
The original delay units were manufactured in the ’60s and ’70s by an Italian company and are in high demand for their unique tone, adding personality to modern recordings. This delay is a secret weapon for many contemporary engineers and producers, used on vocals, keyboards, and drums to achieve a special tone.
A Unique And Flexible Soundchain
Unlike a normal tape echo’s input signal recorded to tape, this unit recorded the signal onto a circular spinning magnetic disc with four record and playback heads. This mechanism provided a more stable transport than tape devices and a distinctive sound full of character. ECHOSON captures every nuance of the original machine’s design.
