The XILS Vocoder 5000 is designed to be easy for beginners to use, while still offering a deep level of control for advanced users. Taking the classic vocoder into the 21st century, XILS-lab has added many modern enhancements that the original hardware could not offer. These include a greater number of vocoder bands, more filter types, expanded oscillator waveforms, detailed FM and PWM capabilities, and new modulation options like LFOs (the original had none). Additionally, the Vocoder 5000 features a side chain input for external audio sources, a voice/unvoice detector, and an improved input gate for reducing unwanted noise, making it a versatile tool for modern production workflows.

The Matrix Patch Area (22×22 or 20×20) allows you to freely draw connections between different elements, and once you’ve created the perfect setup, it can be saved as a preset for future use. With stereo analysis and synthesis, finely tuned pitch tracking, and a built-in frequency shifter effect, the XILS Vocoder 5000 gives you everything you need to create everything from robotic voices to rich, textured soundscapes.
